There are few things more valuable than deep, uninterrupted sleep. It clears your mind and boosts your mood, so you’re always ready to take on the day. If you suffer from sleep apnea, though, uninterrupted sleep may be nothing more than a dream.

Sleep apnea occurs when your breathing is interrupted during the night. This can deprive the brain of oxygen, or wake you up from your sleep. For people with severe sleep apnea, this can happen hundreds of times over the course of a night.

Sleep apnea can be caused by two things. First, the tissue in the back of the throat can collapse, causing the airway to be blocked. This is known as Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) The second form is caused when the brain doesn’t signal to your muscles to continue breathing. This is Central Sleep Apnea.

Sleep Disruption can have upsetting effects on everyday life – Depression, irritability, inability to focus, and all other regular effects of sleep deprivation. On top of these, Sleep Apnea can have dramatic effects on the body. High blood pressure, Stroke, diabetes, ADHD, and cardiovascular disease.

CPAP therapy (Short for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) uses air pressure to keep airways open through the night. While this technology is effective for many patients, it doesn’t work for everyone.

If you’re one of those who didn’t see results from CPAP, you may not be out of options. Clear Creek can work with your sleep physician and your insurance to find an alternative solution to CPAP that may bring you relief!
